Whit ‘Pop’ Haydn to Lecture October 5th

In March 2015, Whit "Pop" Haydn was named Stage Magician of the Year at the world famous Magic Castle and the winner of seven Performer of the Year awards from the Magic Castle.

He has opened for Jerry Seinfeld, the Smothers Brothers, Loretta Lynn, and others, and performed on large cruise ships of many different lines, including CunardLines's QE2, and on the Diamond Princess. Haydn has worked hotels and casinos including Caesars Tahoe, and was one of the first acts chosen in 1996 to open Caesars Magical Empire in Las Vegas.
Pop Haydn was the chief magic consultant on Norman Jewison's major film Bogus starring Whoopi Goldberg, Gerard Depardieu and Haley Joel Osment, and worked as well as a consultant on multiple television documentaries including the Discovery Channel's Houdini, People Came to See Him Die and David Copperfield's television special, Orient Express. Recent work has included television shows such as Bunheads, Franklin and Bash and The Haunted Collectors. He both consulted and appears in the upcoming theatrical release documentary Dealt with William Turner.
Pop Haydn with two time national trick shot champion Chef Anton, started a company called School for Scoundrels in 1996. School for Scoundrels teaches a course every year at the Magic Castle on street scams like the Shell Game, Three Card Monte, and Fast and Loose. This will be the 20th year the course has been taught. School for Scoundrels also markets numerous books, DVDs, and props for these ancient scams and hustles.
Vanish magazine, an international conjuror's magazine from New Zealand, called Pop Haydn "A Legend in Magic."
See his lecture on October 5th at Ring 50’s meeting at the Hampton Inn & Suite, in Alexandria VA at 7:00 PM.
