September 7th is BAG-O-TRICKS Night

    Those attending the September 7^th meeting at the Hampton Inn at 7:00 PM you will be split up into several groups and each group will be given a bag filled with random items, including magic. Then the group will have to come up with a routine/skit to present to everyone with all of the items in the bag! This is sure to provide a lot of comedy plus a challenge to your creativity.

    Remember the meeting is at Hampton Inn and Suites in Alexandria (5821 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA).

June 1 is Open Magic Night

    The June 1st meeting will be Open Magic Night. We want as many members involved as possible performing any type of magic effects that you can bring to the meeting. This can be anything like card tricks, coin tricks, thumb tips, balloon magic, silks, rope magic, ninja rings, mentalism, parlor, etc.

    These tricks are usually short so we need as many of you to perform as possible. Contact Danny Selnick (703-347-5540 or daniel.selnick@yahoo.com) if you want to perform. Others may be called upon to perform, be prepared! Can you fool us?
      Ring 50 meets at Bishop Ireton High School, 201 Cambridge Rd, Alexandria, VA at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month (except July).

Dan Lacey Competition to Pick Title Holder “Magician of the Year”

    Sharpen up your skills and compete at the May 4th meeting for the Dan Lacey Memorial Trophy and the title “Magician of the Year”. The winner will receive a rotating trophy and a spot to perform at the 2017 Ring 50 Magi-Whirl and a free convention registration.
    All paid-up Ring 50 members both new and veteran members can seek the title. A panel of judges will declare the winner. The late Dan Lacey was a president of Ring 50 (1999-2000) who inspired others--especially newcomers to magic—to hone their skills. The contest provides an opportunity to recognize the exceptional magic skills of our members. The contest was started in 2003 to honor the deceased magician.
