Dan Lacey Competition to Pick Title Holder “Magician of the Year”

      Sharpen up your skills and compete at the June 5^th meeting for the Dan Lacey Memorial Trophy and the title “Magician of the Year”. The winner will receive a rotating trophy and a spot to perform at the 2014 Ring 50 Magi-Whirl and a free convention registration. All paid-up Ring 50 members both new and veteran members can seek the title.
      A panel of judges will declare the winner. The late Dan Lacey was a president of Ring 50 (1999-2000) who inspired others--especially newcomers to magic—to hone their skills. The contest provides an opportunity to recognize the exceptional magic skills of our members. The contest was started in 2003 to honor the deceased magician.

Daryl to Lecture at Ring 50 - May 8

    This special lecture contains a wide variety of practical and PERFORMABLE magic. Close-Up Magic, Stage Magic, Impromptu, Angle-Proof, Quickly Re-Set, Finish Clean, Easy to Learn, etc., this lecture is full of it!  All questions to be answered! He plans to have several items available for sale varying in price from $5.00 to $40.00, but the VAST MAJORITY of the magic performed and explained in the lecture uses simple ordinary objects - with no need to buy *anything*!

    The lecture is being held at Ring 50’s meeting place, Bishop Ireton High School, 201 Cambridge Rd, Alexandria VA at 7:30 PM on May 8, 2013.  The lecture is FREE to paid up members of Ring 50. All other magicians are welcome to attend for a $15 fee.

March 13th is AUCTION NIGHT!

Due to the last blast of winter snow we got cancelled out last Wednesday night so Ring 50 Auction Night was rescheduled for March 13th.

    Gather up those great effects that you no longer need and put them in the Auction (include the instructions too, if you can find them). A 10% fee is charged to the seller for each item sold in the Auctions.

    There will be a Silent Auction for small items. For the bigger items with a retail value over $25 we will have a Live Auction. There is a limit of no more than 7 items per person in the Live Auction. Please keep ALL BIDS in even dollars.

Ring 50 Meeting Cancelled – Moved to March 13th

Due to the forecast winter storm to hit our area with projected accumulations from ½ the 7 inches and with your safety in mind, the Ring 50 meeting scheduled for March 6th has been cancelled and will be moved to Wednesday March 13th at the same place; Bishop Ireton High School, 210 Cambridge Road, Alexandria, VA.

We will still have the auction. The times are:
